Senior Tax Accountant

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tax Accountant to join our growing Tax and Accounting Firm in Rapid City. This position focuses on preparing business and individual tax returns.

Responsibilities

  • Preparation of tax returns: 1040, 1065, 1120, 1120-S, 990, and various States
  • Complete 40 hours of continuing education annually
  • Participate in tax planning strategies with clients
  • Utilize accounting software such as Drake Tax Software, QuickBooks Desktop, QuickBooks Online, Xero, Excel, and other various accounting software
  • Work in a team environment and assist other junior staff with tax return preparation

 

qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in an accounting role; public accounting experience preferred
  • CPA certification is highly preferred, or ability to sit for CPA exams
  • Proficiency with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or similar platforms
  • Excellent client communication skills with the ability to explain tax concepts clearly and professionally

 

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 – $75,000.00 per year
